Hamamatsu DCAM ORCA

The main features are: high resolution (1344x1024 B/W), high 12-bit image quality (4096 levels of gray), high sensitivity, programmable exposure time and high speed transfer of data to the computer via IEEE-1394 Firewire.

Activating

Connect the camera to the computer and install the drivers supplied by the camera manufacturer.

In the program select:

from the Tools main menu -> Settings -> Digital Camera: Hamamatsu DCAM ORCA;

from the Tools main menu -> Settings ->Menu: Digital Camera;

restart the program;

from the Digital Camera main menu select Camera Setup.

Controls

The following controls are available: Offset, Gain and Exposure Time (from 0 to 10 seconds).

There is also a Focus Info indicator providing image focus information.

The greater the number displayed, the sharper the focus.

The two buttons control the live image and the image capture. The live image window is freely sizeable to better adapt it to the work environment.

The acquired images are opened in the program's multidocument environment and can be saved automatically once a name and a numerical starting value for the Auto increase counter have been specified.

If a database is open, the saved images are automatically related to the current record.
